It’s what’s inside that matters #3

The feeding signs of Nemapogon clematella larvae can be quite easy to spot.

Look out for the frass-covered silken tubes on Hazel and Birch branches.  The larvae feed on the small black fruiting bodies of the fungus, Diatrype disciformis.
